The Lydia House

In 2012 The Honey Brook Community Church purchased the former elementary school on Main street. This property includes the main building which was converted to housing in 1984, currently includes 33 apartments.

The two-story stone building on the east edge of the property had been damaged by fire and was in need of renovation. In 2013 the building was completely restored. Most of the work was done by talented individuals within the HBCC congregation, from tearing off plaster to expose lovely stone walls to repainting the interior in welcoming coffee shop colors. New doors and windows as well as adding a bell tower provide a very welcoming appearance.

In honor of Lydia Zook a faithful member of our congregation who passed away in 2011 as well as the example in Acts 16:14 we have named this building “The Lydia House”

The building is currently used as a meeting place for many different church functions, such as Bible studies, prayer meetings, leadership meetings, church office, counseling sessions, personal connections, homeschool co-op classes, youth group, worship team practice etc.
